If by any chance you’ve just dug up some photos or scans, I’d appreciate if you would send them my way.

I suppose I was destined to be a writer when I was born in 1953 in Portland to a wannabe newspaper mogul
and a stay-at-home mother with big dreams for her only son. I loved reading nonfiction, and the mere act
of critical thinking enthralled me. I grew up knowing Frances and Beth as my older sister's companions,
and not until high school did I begin to see something in the vocalist (she wasn't so interested, but
I don't blame her). Hardly a year after they graduated, they were knocking at my door, asking for my father.
Wanting him to help promote their rock music or some nonsense... I didn't hear much about those girls for
quite a few years. It wasn't until the last year of my journalism degree at the University of Oregon
did I hear the news -- those girls went all the way to France. And they went BIG. We soon reconnected,
and I finally met lovely Corinne. I remember my astonishment when the trio told me they had a top 10 single
in France -- how had their music failed to grace American radio? Every time I visited (and such visits
were indeed frequent), it seemed like Lavender Valley was even bigger than before. All the while,
Frances and I grew ever closer, and I married her on June 12, 1980.
